January 30th, 2013: A Temporary Farewell

You know, I hate excuses.
While I can often come up with a myriad of excuses for the littlest things, I often hate to use those excuses because it sounds...too weak.
I frequently see people on YouTube or some other digital media say "Sorry, I can't make videos often because of school/work/moving/sickness etc". I sympathize with those people, now more than ever.
The reason? Because as of today, I am making the decision (along with Elliott) to put E.D. Wargaming on hold for a few months.
This is not an easy decision. We've both put many hours into this business, and nurtured it from a dinky blog to a 1000 hits per month hobby source and a business that has sold consistently with our efforts. I regret none of the hours that I've spent on business work.
That is one of the problems, though. E.D. Wargaming became less about the game and more about the products. The monotony got to me and for the past year or so I've been almost unable to voluntarily pick up a brush or some glue. The business overtook the hobby, leaving me sorrowfully longing for the pleasant games and talking shop on forums.
So, what does this mean for you all, our followers? We will still be around, maybe even putting out a little bit of content here and there. However, our store is offline and no products will be sold for the next few months. We are in the process of negotiating a deal to sell out the rest of our stock.
When Elliott and I both are back in the country in the summer, we want to dust off our old green & black and continue to innovate and produce low cost products enjoyable by all hobbyists as we have been doing.
I thank you for your time.

Quick Update for Sept/Oct: New Webstore Location!

Hello all.
Unfortunately it has been a while since I have last written. We have not been completely dormant her at E.D. Wargaming, however. There have been some pretty major changes made, some of which are still taking full effect. More on those in a later post or video.
The main thing I'd like to address in this video is the new location of our web store. For a year, we had a webstore located at That store is now gone and has been relocated due to a billing and finances issue. The new location is: Please note that adjustment. There is also a link at the top of this blog that says "Our Web Store", clicking that will direct you to the store itself. Checkout there is the same as always, secured with PayPal. Thanks for sticking with us, there is more content coming!

Auction swag! And General updates...

Hey guys.
It's been a little while, sorry about that. But I do have some lovely model pictures for your enjoyment.
Whole group of buys from the local games store auction. A decently painted/converted chimera ($10), a magentized/converted/painted hydra flak tank ($20), a bunch of old WarZone miniatures ($3) and a stack of tyranid bits ($1). Look for the latter two in conversions coming soon to this blog.
Detail of the warzone minis
The auction never fails to get me back into the hobby mindset, hopefully the painting/modelling progress will be spurred by these new minis.

In the next few weeks I hope to have a Let's paint or a Let's Model out.

Until next time.

New Contest End Date!

Hello all.
Quick update. Elliot and I have decided to push back the contest end date to the 25th of July because we are going to be too busy to judge until then, really. Also it gives plenty of time for more entries.
Spread the word!

Updated rules:
Contest Rules
--Entries are to be one SINGLE non-vehicle model. No tanks, and no squads.
--One entry per person.
Models are to be modelled and painted in one of the following themes:
--Urban Warfare~ Your miniature has been fighting in the streets, holding his own against the countless enemies. He/She fights for every building, every city block and refuses to back down.
--In the Trenches!~ Your miniature is stationed at the forefront of a long and bloody war. His/her company has dug miles of muddy and sloppy trenches to protect their territory. The daily life of your miniature rarely takes him/her outside of the trenches in which they live and die.
Models that are not themed in one of these categories will not be considered for the prize.
Anything Goes! Models can be from any miniatures company or they can be self-sculpted; you can use any materials you want to convert/model and paint.
Entries must be submitted by July 25th, 2012 at 12PM EST (GMT -5:00).

Entry Submission guidelines:

One (1) to four(4) finished pictures of your model. Please try to make these as clear as possible to represent your model well!

Mobile Post #1; New Camera!

Hello all.
This will be a shorter post, but I did want to put this up. Today my new camera came in the mail.
Picture is attached.
I haven't gotten to shoot anything war gaming related but this camera is a beast. So many features, beautiful depth of field. And as an added plus, and old film DSLR of mine has a nice lens that fits perfectly (at least for stills) on my camera. Much better than the kit lens, also much heavier. Full review coming later as I use it more. Will be putting up new product pictures as well as an On The Desk announcing new bases this weekend.
This is also my first mobile post, hope it works out well.
Until next time.
